I've been following AI development for years, and while we celebrate breakthroughs, there's another side: spectacular failures that cost billions in investments. Let's examine the most instructive AI project failures and what they teach us.
The Uber Self-Driving Car Incident (2018)
In March 2018, an Uber autonomous vehicle was involved in a serious incident in Tempe, Arizona, leading to the suspension of their self-driving program. The investigation revealed multiple system failures.
